Doggy oatmeal...

So I'm going to start with this mornings fun.  I had a bowl of oatmeal and fruit ready to go for Cooper...I walk away for a minute to get myself some cereal so we can eat at the same time...I look over and Sampson is sampling the oatmeal.  Most people would throw that oatmeal away and get some fresh...that didn't contain doggy germs...but I didn't.  I figure this can't be any different than Cooper trying to lick and bite Sampson's nose yesterday (and succeeding a few times)...so this morning Cooper had Apple/Pear/Banana/doggy oatmeal.  Get in line people...I am getting parent of the year award right here!

Yesterday Kyle had to go into work for awhile and Cooper and I ventured to the AT&T store.  I finally joined the rest of the world and got an IPhone.  I love playing words with friends...if anyone plays send me your screen name. 

Cooper has been a little fussy the last couple of days and we can't decide if it's his new tooth coming through or an ear infection coming back...time will tell. 

Last thing for now...Cooper is getting more mobile by the day.  The days of sitting and playing are over...he is now rolling EVERYWHERE.  He doesn't get up on his hands and knees...just rolling around to get to important things like the computer and the outlets.  Today we will be making a trip to get some baby-proofing things.

Things that go bump in the night...

Or in our case...things that yell "DADA" at 5AM.  The last few nights Cooper has been waking at 5 and talking, squealing, giggling, and yelling "DADA" until 6:30 when we go in to get him.  He seems to go through phases from time to time of weird wake up times, so we are going to give it a few days and see if this passes.  If it does not pass I will be looking into changing up his nap and bedtime schedule to see if we can't fix this 5AM thing...I am the farthest thing from a morning person and cherish every minute of sleep I can get before 7AM.  Other big things for today...Cooper has his 2nd tooth...and he's well aware of it.  He has been feeling the new addition with his tongue and trying to bite whatever he can...including us.  He also ate his first teething cookie today and LOVED it.  Since food with texture has been a big thing for us in that he would gag on anything that wasn't creamy Gerber baby food, this is a huge accomplishment.  If you don't know... teething cookies are very messy and turn into a paste that turns into cement when it drys....I am still trying to figure out how I am going to give him these cookies without having to give him a bath several times a day.

In other news...Kyle went down to the beach house today to de-winterize (I'm sure that's not even a word)  and this evening we all (including Mollie and Sampson) went for a long walk.  We are loving the warmer weather.  More adventures are sure to come tomorrow :)

My attempt at blogging...

So I have been toying with the idea of starting a blog for months...actually many many months.  I still don't really know what I'm doing but I got a "spring" template put together (that somewhat ended up with the feel of the Easter bunny throwing up everywhere) but none the less ... here is our family blog.

The plan is to post every few days to share what is going on around here and throw in pictures when I can. 

I am going to go ahead and warn you now...there may be talk of baby or dog bodily fluids and who knows what else ... so if you'd rather not hear about those kinds of things ... don't read this blog.  I am also going to go ahead and say that I spell on a 2nd grade level and I won't be taking the time to spell check these posts.  One last thing ... I use "...." A LOT.  I like to write things as if I am talking ... I feel like I can get the point across much faster this way than using complete sentences.  Yes I have a college education and prefer to write this way :)
